Micah Clark, executive director of the American Family Association of Indiana, says Braun was able to capture the pro-Trump vote “by saying he was for Trump, and he pointed out several votes of the incumbent congressmen that he thought were things that Hoosiers wouldn’t like on spending and other issues.”

“It’s going to be different race than the primary,” Clark asserts. “Braun may have had an easier time in the primary running for the Trump vote. I think in the fall it’s going to be more the middle vote; the more moderate people might actually defect and vote for Joe Donnelly. I’ve always believed that Donnelly won in Indiana four years ago because of Republican voters.”
